I love a good mystery game and one of the best detectives games to play is no other than the famous detective, Sherlock Holmes. So today, I will be reviewing Frogwares Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments, based off of Arthur Conan Doyle, Crimes and Punishments. Sherlock Holmes was released September 29th, 2014 and is based of Doyle's book Crime and Punishment. So lets get started!

The ramifications are far-reaching, and your decisions will exert a real influence through your reputation or the surprising consequences that will arise where you least expect them…
Graphics/World
I just love the graphics in the game. When I first play game I was mazed with just how real everything looked, down to the tiniest details in a characters face, to London, it just was amazing how really everything looked. In the game, there are so many little details that bring this game to life as when it comes to each character in their design, or even how Sherlock dresses. These little thing are what make the world in Sherlock Holmes so interesting.
Storyline
This game is heavily storyline based and if you aren't paying close attention then you will definitely miss the bigger picture. Each case is a stand alone from each other in the ideal sense that the first case does not affect the second case and so forth. Which I found gave each case its own uniqueness since you did not need to recall past information to solve the next case. The story as the whole as it began to affect Sherlock and the world around him was very apparent and I found that I tied the game together beautifully.
Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments: Character Profile Puzzle |
Puzzles
Without giving to much away in spoilers about the game, every case was unique in its own way. Whether it was a murder, disappearance, or theft, each case led to a bigger scheme behind the scenes which made solving each one so much fun. If you pay close attention in each case they will always mention the larger culprit at hand without you even realizing it until the end. So in a way there are 6 main cases you focus on with a final 7th case that leads to the conclusion on Crimes and Punishments. I believe the developers outdid themselves with this game and it makes me super excited to more games in the future!Thank you everyone for reading. I loved playing this game and I cannot wait to jump back into the mystery of Sherlock Holmes! If you want to check out the game for yourself you can find it on Steam, PS4, Xbox One, and Epic Store.
