Favorite Video Games Of the Decade

It's not only the end of the year, but its also the end of the decade and I can't believe time has flown by so fast. 2010 honestly feels like yesterday to me and I just can't believe so much time has gone by. However, over the last 10 years, the gaming industry has released so many games that have truly affected my life during this 10-year period.

So for today's second to last post of the year, I'm going to be sharing with you my favorite games that I've played over the last 10 years. It doesn't matter if the game was released during the last ten years or 20 years ago, I'm choosing to focus on the games that I began playing during this time. I'm choosing to list this in alphabetical order so that it makes it just a little bit easier for me to keep track. So let's get started!

Anno 1800
This game has to be one of my top favorite simulation build games I have ever played. For one, it's based on the 1800 which was one of my favorite periods in history. This was honestly one of the first Anno games I had ever played, since I had never heard of the series before 2019 when this game was being prepared to be released. Now, I own pretty much all of the DLC for the game and I have to create time limits of how long I can play for.

Assassins Creed Black Flag
This was one of the first Assassins Creed games that I had ever played by myself instead of having Daniella play the game with me. I just fell in love with driving my boat around the Caribbean and exploring the sea. Which I also hope to write a review for this game soon.

Assassins Creed Odyssey
This has to be one of the longest games I think I have ever played, and I'm still playing it with Daniella. After putting 100+ hours into this game I have to say that this is one of my favorite games with the updated gameplay.

Assassins Creed Unity
This was one of the first AC games that Daniella and I had ever played and it will always hold a special place in my heart. The story of Arno joining the Assassins, and the love story between Arno and Elise. Daniella and I loved playing this story so much (Or more of me watching Daniella play) that encouraged both of us to play the other game in the series.

Black Mirror 1
This is the original game that was released in early 2000 and I was so excited to play this game. Before playing this one Daniella, Raenna and I played games 2 and 3 first since we couldn't find the first one. However, with Steam we were able to play it!

The Council
This game is absolutely amazing! I love the freedom this game give the players when it comes to how you choose to play the game. Once I finish this game completely I will definitely be writing a review for it.

Lost Horizon
I will forever remember this game as during one of the cheesiest and funniest games I had ever played. I remember I was multitasking making cupcakes while Daniella, Raenna and I were playing the game I had to stop for a moment just to watch the fireworks explode in this game! Daniella and I died from laughter watching this scene!

Myst
This was one of the first game that I remember seeing. My Mom would sit down on the computer as Daniella and I watched over her shoulder. However it wasn't until early 2013 when I decided to sit down and play the game to it's full extent by myself.

Nancy Drew Secret of the Old Clock
Again, when it comes to games themed in historic periods, I just absolutely love them. In CLK, this game will always be my all time favorite game out of all the 33 Nancy Drew games. If you haven't played this game yet, then you must get a copy of the game and play it for yourself.

Nancy Drew Midnight In Salem
I waited 5 years for this game and before the decade ended, it was finally released! My prayers were answered when MID was released on December 3rd, 2019. When it comes to the newer games, this one is my number one favorite games out of all the newest released.

Gray Matter
This has to be one of my favorite game written by Jane Jenson. The dark gothic theme and the mystery and intrigue of the game is what drew me to play the game. I recently just re-installed the game and I can't wait to play it again.

The Hardy Boys The Hidden Theft
Though this game wasn't super popular and it is the only Hardy Boys game that I ever played. I still love it as it reminded me of a third person view of the game. However, it Her Interactive ever decided to release their own version of the Hardy Boys series, then I might be changing my mind on my favorite Hardy Boys game.

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy
I bought the Ace Attorney Trilogy back in 2014 and played this game on my phone and was immediately addicted to the game. Over the last year they even re-released the game for PS4. Though I have yet to play that version of it, I bet it will be amazing when I can!

The Sims 3 and 4
I have been playing The Sims for as long as I can remember. When the Sims 3 came out, I was obsessed with how realistic the game looked and I loved everything about it! Especially when I could change the color of every item and more. However due to Mac issues with the game, I can no longer play it.

Now with the release of Sims 4, I have thoroughly enjoyed what the Sim Gurus have done to improve the game and I can't wait to play the game again and explore the new content for the game.

Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments

I love playing the Sherlock Holmes games! When I first saw this game released, I knew I just had to play it. This is probably one of the best Sherlock Holmes games I have ever played and unless another Sherlock Holmes game comes out to trumpet it, I think this game is one of the best games.

Stardew Valley
I was first introduce to this game through Foxtrot44 (Molly) on Twitch and I was in love with the idea of playing this game and the second I was told on Steam that the game was on sale, I bought it immediately! Then soon afterwards the news of the game becoming multiplayer hit I knew I needed to get Daniella and Raenna to join in playing the game. This is our nightly way to relax and have some fun.

Syberia
This game had to be one of the most puzzle driven games I have every played. Syberia was one the first few games I reviewed on my blog and the emotional storyline was written so beautifully.

Woven
Woven was released earlier this year on November 15th. This was one of my first gifted games I have ever review on my blog and everything about the game is so beautiful. The story focus on the characters Stuffy and Glitch never giving up in the face of doubt and obstacles and always working towards achieving your dreams! If you have not yet played this game, then I ask that you stop what ever game your playing and play Woven!

Zork The Grand Inquisitor
When I first started getting into games, this game was the next one my Mom introduced me and Daniella to. This was an older game on Disc that we installed and we had so much fun playing. The cheesiness of the game is something that I have aways enjoyed playing.

Thank you everyone for reading! I've enjoyed playing all these so much over the last 10 years and I can't wait to see what's coming next! So, what was some of your favorite games of the decade? Did I happen to list one of the games on this list? Let me know in the comments down below. I would love to know!

Until next time,
