Nancy Drew The Silent Spy Review

I've been having so much fun replaying all the Nancy Drew game I can this summer and after finishing up Trail of the Twister, the next game that was picked for my Nancy Drew Battle Challenge was The Silent Spy!  This game is an all time favorite for me as this is the only game were we get to learn more about Nancy and her family before her mom passed away.  I was super excited to play the game when it was first released and I supper excited to be review it today!  The Silent Spy in the 29th game in the Nancy Drew series and was released by Her Interactive on October 22nd, 2013.  So let's get started!
The Silent Spy: Glaucus Lodge and Spy Hideout

Game Description
Defuse a Toxic Plot and Reveal the Truth Behind Kate Drew’s Death!

Nearly a decade ago Agent Kate Drew left home to neutralize a biochemical weapon in Scotland. While her assignment was a success, Kate died in a car accident; or so we were told. Now the echoes of a similar plot reverberate and it’s up to you, as detective Nancy Drew, to thwart the sleeper cell and expose the truth about your mother’s tragic demise.

The Silent Spy: Loch Lomond Safehouse

Storyline
I remember when Her Interactive first hinted at the storyline back in 2013 where it focused on Nancy's Mom and the mystery surrounding her death.   This game is so much more personal than all the games combined.  In easier games we always knew of Kate Drew passing away when Nancy was young and in this game I feel that we get to connect with Nancy just a little bit more.  We get to see what she thought of her mother in both past and present years, as well as, watching Nancy see her mother in a whole new light than before.  I personally loved this aspect of the game and I know that Kate would be happy to know that her daughter is just like her.

The Silent Spy: Hacking Ewan's Computer

Puzzles
Out of all the Nancy Drew games, I find that once you reach game 29 and up (expect for MID 33) the puzzles get more challenging.  though each puzzle is set up in a way that would make it easy for one to figure out I will admit that this game has had me stumped way more times than I would like to admit.  But I know with time I will eventually get better and solve each and every puzzle without cheats!e.  So if you're looking for fun logic based puzzles that give you a challenge then I would highly recommend this game since there are so many puzzles to solve.

The Silent Spy: Ten Raven Pub

World/Graphics
I love the amount of design and detail that was put into this game.  The amount of small little details in each of the locations really bring the game to life and I honestly really wanted to go into the Ten Raven pub for the fact alone that I looks like the Screaming Banshee Inn in The Haunting of Castle Malloy.  I also find it funny listening to all the employees from Her Interactive singing and partying in the pub.  Overall I really enjoyed exploring all the locations and I cannot wait to have another game were you can travel to different locations.

Thank you everyone for reading!  This game has so many emotions in it when it comes to family and having to understand the difficult choices that Nancy's mom had to make.  I think that this game did an amazing job in explaining this little unknown pieces of information in Nancy's life and I cannot wait to see if Her Interactive explores Nancy's past again.  If you want to see more of my Nancy Drew related posts, check out all my Nancy Drew posts!  Also check out my other Game Reviews for new recommendations of games that I have played.  You can get the game over on Steam or at Her Interactive with a free strategy guide.

Until next time,
