Assassins Creed Valhalla Teaser & Trailer Reveal

As many of you know from my social media, I am a huge Assassins Creed fan and I've been trying my best to play as many of the games that I can since I'm a new and recent fan.  Well, this year I was expecting news about the new AC game to be released at a convention this year as AC Odyssey had been.  However, with the cancellation of events with delays in games release dates, I assumed that we would be waiting another year before learning anything about the next installment in the series.  Well I was wrong and for that I'm super happy for it!  So let's get started!

Over on Twitter, many of Ubisofts other streaming accounts, they decided to live stream the design image for Assassin's Creed Valhalla.  BossLogic, created of the image above during the live stream.  Giving players a look at the drawing/design process behind the images as fan waited in excitement for the final image and the title reveal of the game.

I honestly love the design and it made me really excited to watch the trailer.  From what I can see it looks like the main protagonist will have an eagle, just like the last 2 games released, Origin and Odyssey.  As well as having very similar navel combat and war system to Odyssey which can shift the power balance in the game.

It was also confirmed at the the release of the trailer that you can play a female version of Elvor, who is also name the same.  Compared to Odyssey where both character had an effect on the story, it will be interesting to see the different between these two characters.  However, I think when I play I will choose what would be consider cannon in the main storyline just to get the full Assassin's Creed experience.

The trailer, which was released Thursday April 30th, 2020 has captured me by storm.  I think it good thing to say that I'm excited to become a viking when the game is released!  There is just so much to this 4 minute trailer that its mind blowing.

First off, the trailer looks just absolutely beautiful.  I love the idea where it shows the Vikings in two different lights.  The positive version of the game where you see our main protagonist Elvor and his clan playing with the children pretending to fight, to the next scene where he's in an all out war.  I feel that this just conveys the idea of fighting for peace for their home.  Just from this little bit I'm getting huge amount of Black Flag vibes.  I am also super excited for the fact that they are bringing back the hidden blade.  I really missed it in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, however this is super exciting!

One thing I did notice, was the fact that you can hear what I think is Elvor in the trailer talking about attacking villages without hesitating, but the trailer you see him stop when coming to face a woman and heir two children.  He stops a clan member next to him and lets the three of them leave unharmed.

I think this is part is very important to Elvor character, as it show the more humane side of him.  He is not the common viking that we have seen in history, which were described as ruthless.  He is as human as any of us and I truly think that this will show in his characters once we get the chance to play the game and experience his story.

At this time the game is available for PS4, Xbox One, Uplay, and Epic Store (Exclusive).  There is a possibly that the game will be available on the new PS5 and Xbox Series X however there is no option to buy these versions of the game yet.  You can find more information about the game over on the Assassin's Creed website.
