Distant Kingdoms: Village |
Game Description
A unique blend of City Building, Social Management, Exploration and Adventure gameplay, Distant Kingdoms brings a rich fantasy world to life. Help the Humans, Dwarves, Elves and Orcs of Talam, begin anew in the fabled land of Ineron.
Demo Instructions
When first starting the demo, you are given a set of step by step instructions. As the game guides you through, it explains in detail about the economics of how the game works as wells the building aspect on how to progress. Personally, I find that the best way to learn things in games like these is to jump straight in and see how quickly I either sink or float. But I will admit, this tutorial made it so much easier to understand how to play the game and how each mechanic works.
Building
I found that building in this game was fairly easy. With each building you placed, whether it's a house, lumber mill, or a crop farm, it helped you slowly build up your town with the required buildings you needed in order to expand. Eventually, you do find your own pattern based on what you want to build and how you want to design your town/village. I will admit, there were a few things here and there that I found difficult. When it came to the placement of the building, I wish I could pick them up or move them after they were built. I also wish that if you were to destroy a building you could get back your resources that you invested into the building.

World/Graphics
I absolutely love the map in this world! The colors used in the game are so vibrant and pretty, I would love to live there. Everything in this game is absolutely breath taking and the detail that goes into each object, decoration, and building is fantastic. Since this game is only available on PC, I did play this on BootCamp on a 2560 by 1440 resolution and it still looked amazing! I cannot wait to explore more of the game and see what's beyond level 5 in the game (which is where the demo ends).
Music/Soundtrack
Can I just say that the music in this game is so cute! The music is just so happy and cheerful, it shows just how happy the people in the game are as they go about their lives. I cannot wait to hear more music in this game.
Thank you everyone for reading! I would highly recommend checking out this demo when you get the chance, I'm in love with it so far. Sadly, I can't continue on in the game anymore but that doesn't mean I can't replay the demo until the game is released! If you want to play the demo for yourself you can find it over on the Distant Kingdoms Steam page. So, are you ready to discover new land in Distant Kingdoms?
Until next time,
