Nancy Drew Stay Tuned For Danger Review

The sun is out and getting hotter by day and that means it time to get ready for summer hibernation!  If you've never heard of this then here's the simple explanation, in Arizona, we get to extreme temperatures where leaving the house is like walking into a hell heat wave and to protect myself from dying, I go into hibernation full of cold water and air conditioning!  Also what better game to play in this heat than Stay Tuned For Danger! This game was released by Her Interactive on November 13, 1999.  So let's get started!

Stay Tuned For Danger: World Wide Broad Casting Studio

Game Description
"Go Undercover to Save Daytime TV’s Biggest Star from the Danger Lurking in the Wings!

Nancy’s reputation for solving mysteries offers her the chance to investigate behind the scenes of a high-profile daytime drama. One of TV’s hottest soap stars is receiving threatening letters and it’s up to Nancy to get to the bottom of them. Clues are everywhere you look, but so is treachery! Only cleverness and craft can outwit this culprit–will Nancy discover the truth before the final curtain call? Stay Tuned!"

Storyline
The game starts you off at arriving at Maddie's apartment she's renting from Nancy's Aunt Eloise.  You walk in and talk to her about the case and what's been happening with Rick Arlen, the actor thats being threatened.  After this, you're off to WWB Studio to investigate the recent threats and you will get to witness your first attempt at Rick's life at the studio.  This will then require you to go under cover who's behind these threats.

This is such a classic investigation and I love how this storyline is set up to question everyone!  It really makes you question who would want Rick dead and why they want him dead in the first place. Personally, I think this storyline really does well in showing the setup for the villain and how these two characters entertwine.

Puzzles
Throughout the game, you are faced with numerous logic puzzles that help your progress through the game.  Out of all the puzzles, they for the most part fairly easy.  There are a few things here or there that makes the game tricky but then some puzzles are optional, while others are not.  So don't forget that door handle or screw driver or your screwed!  See, I made a pun... ok moving on!

World/Graphics
Comparing the graphics to the original Secrets Can Kill, there was a major improvement.  The amount of detail put into this game for its day and age is amazing and its still so much fun to explore after all these years.  They went from 2D design in Secrets Can Kill to 3D animation which for its time looks great!  Theres just something so classic about the graphics that bring a sense of comfort to me and probably other Nancy Drew players as well.

Music/Soundtrack
I absolutely love the music in this game!  It just so calming and relaxing I could listen to it for hours!  Which I kind of have already since I own the game soundtrack from HeR!  If you want any of the game music then I would highly recommend getting it directly from them!

Thank you everyone for reading!  I'm sad to say that this review was a nightmare to write as the original post was deleted by blogger due to a glitch of trying to undo an error when I was editing it and it saved a completely blank post.  Hopefully this doesn't happen again, and I pray my sanity last long enough.  If you want to see more of my Nancy Drew related posts, check out all my Nancy Drew posts!  Also check out my other Game Reviews for new recommendations of games that I have played.

Until next time,
