Potion Permit: Chemist House Cauldron |
Game Description
"The town of Moonbury has always been wary of the advances of the outside world, preferring to rely on their traditional methods of healing. Until one day, when the mayor's daughter falls ill, and the local witch doctor can do nothing to help her, they are forced to look outside their small community for help.
The Medical Association decides to send their most accomplished chemist - you - to help cure the mayor's daughter and convince the residents of Moonbury of the wonders of modern alchemy. Gain their trust and tend to each person when they fall ill in this open-ended sim RPG."

Storyline
The storyline mainly focuses on your arrival in Moonbury and your goal to help heal the Mayor's daughter. However, once you complete this you are then able to move on to more parts of the game! I absolutely loved how I was able to just slowly move through the game at a calm pace solving puzzles to heal patients, collection materials, making potions, and fighting monsters and animals. I will admit when it came to meeting the villagers, you do not get a very friendly welcome. They don't like outsiders especially Chemist from the City (Which you are!), so its your job to find a way to earn their trust. This definitely adds a different layer to the game compared to Stardrew Valley, which is what the game reminds me of.

Puzzles
I mentioned this in the storyline just briefly, but while you heal patients, you also get fun mini games. The better your score the quicker it is to heal your patients as well as how happy they are with your service. Personally, I found them to be fun and and annoying at the same time. But thats more because I'm really bad at them (times puzzles are not my strong suit). One puzzle is selecting the correct arrow and time it with the box as it enters. Another puzzle which I feature above is making potions! Yes, you collect ingredients and then you get the fun challenge of figuring out how to use said ingredients. This has to be my favorite puzzle in the game as I love trying to solve the different potions.Potion Permit: Collecting Resources in the Forest |
World/Graphics
I absolutely love the world of Moonbury! The design of the worlds is just so cute and comfy looking. Though right now I will admit looks a little run down. I'm really hoping in the final version we will get the ability to clean the town up and make it look even pretty but if not then thats fine! I still just want to sit and enjoy my time either sitting in front of the Mayor's office out by the pond or the outdoor seating at the pub.

Music/Soundtrack
I absolutely love the music in this game. Its just so cute calm and peaceful. I could have the character sitting anywhere on the map and just listen to the nature sounds and the music. I could listen to the music all day long and never tire of it. Hopefully I can listen to more of the game music once its released!

Thank you everyone for reading! I absolutely loved this game and highly recommend checking it out on steam. Please let me know what you think of the game if you've played the demo or if you plan on buying the game. Honestly, after the game is released I'm probably going to buy it and maybe play it on stream! I don't know when that will be as the game is being released in September so it will be some time before I can play more than the demo. Fingers crossed that I can play it soon.
