Phasmophobia Review

"So, whose ready for a ghost hunt?"  I know that I wasn't when I started up Phasmophobia since I am absolutely terrified of scary games, but with the idea of ghost hunting I just new that I need to go and investigate the different type of ghosts haunting the homes and other locations in the game.  Just like most, I first saw this game when a group of streamers that I watch play this game other and I though it would be fun to try out for myself.  Phasmophobia was released by Kinetic Games on September 18, 2020.  So let's get started!

Phasmophobia: Investigating the School

Game Description
Phasmophobia is a 4 player online co-op psychological horror where you and your team members of paranormal investigators will enter haunted locations filled with paranormal activity and gather as much evidence of the paranormal as you can. You will use your ghost hunting equipment to search for and record evidence of whatever ghost is haunting the location to sell onto a ghost removal team.

You can choose to support your team by monitoring the location with CCTV cameras and motion sensors from the safety of the truck or head inside and get your hands dirty with the ghostly activity that will get increasingly hostile as time goes on.

Multiplayer Ability
This game is built where you can either play by yourself or or you can play with up to three other people.  I have played the game with 2 other and I honestly have had so much fun playing it with my group.  We were able to easily divide up each all the equipment and find our best way to hunt for the ghost that lurk beyond the shadows.

When it came to setting up a private room, I found it fairly simple and easy to quickly open a room and send the code for my friends to join.  It's always been a hassle when setting up multi player rooms for us due to internet issues or other outside factors but Phasmophobia makes it as simple as can be.  We were quickly able to get into a room and get started on our ghost hunt.

Ghost Hunt
I will admit every time I play, I'm honestly afraid of the ghosts.  I hate getting jump scared which I will admit makes it very hard to get the ghosts to actually show themselves especially since you are looking for them.  When it came to the ghost hunting, we found it slightly challenging.  It might be the fact that I'm fairly hesitant in my approach as well as my friends.  One thing we also seemed to have trouble with was the spirt box.  Whenever we would use it, we would get no response at all no matter what room we were in.

Fair warning, don't curse the ghosts out, say the wrong name or anything that might anger them right off the bat, it might come back and haunt you as it proved to be fatal for me as the ghost beelined for me right after I did that.  I said the only half the name right and after everyone else in my group called it, well you could say that it was a little angry with me.  So angry that I ended up dead.

Phasmophobia: On Location

World/Graphics
When it comes to the graphics of the game, I find that they are very nice.  Especially with the ghosts that I've seen.  I will admit that this game is fairly dark and it's kind of hard to see anything especially if you can't buy a flashlight or even the higher quality flashlight.

Thank you everyone for reading!  I had so much fun taking the time to go ghost hunting.  I would highly recommend that you check it out when you get the chance.  If you want to get the game for yourself you can find it on Steam.
