Mystery Case Files: Prime Suspect Review

As I look back upon some of the older games that I used to played, one game I happened to get randomly at a Staples always haunted me.  I had lost the CD many years ago and I could not remember the name of the game for the life of me until one day I finally found it!  Mystery Case Files: Prime Suspect had to be one of the most fun yet irritating games I have ever played in my life and after so many years, I though it would be a great idea to not only play the game again but also review it!  Mystery Case Files: Prime Suspect was released by Big Fish Studios on April 6th, 2006 and it is the second game in the Prime Suspect series.  So lets get started!

Mystery Case Files Prime Suspect: Case File

Game Description
"The Queen's Hope Diamond has been stolen! It's up to you to search for clues throughout 22 levels, find the offending culprit, and recover the stolen gem. Expand your investigations through the game's 29 unique locations by finding items that will unlock subsequent levels."

Storyline
I will admit I actually enjoyed the storyline in the game.  However, be warned that the game rotates between different villains so each new play through will have a new baddy.  Each characters back story was fantastically written to make them all seem like the villains and it was so much fun to go and figure out which one would have enough motive to steal the Queen's Hope Diamond!

Puzzles
I love hidden puzzle games but I will admit that there were some items in this game that really stumped me.  This mostly came down to word choice and it honestly made it super difficult when a word that you would usually associate with one item but a completely different items was required to find.  Other than that I really enjoyed solving many of the simple puzzles in the game and where it required you to look around the map.  Even the timer at the bottom did dissuade me from hunting down each object.  however I will admit that the dark maps where you need to look though a spying magnifying glass or snoop in the night were some of he most challenging puzzle in the map.  The other puzzles that were in the game was the title matching puzzle with I absolutely loved to solve since it was the easiest puzzle, there was also the image rearranged puzzle and the find the hidden words which was fun if you knew the words they were asking, such as the names of different trees.

World/Graphics
Some of the locations in this game were flat out freaky and strange.  This game really put some odd locations in the game especially with the weapons and blood hidden throughout a few of the maps *creepy*.  But overall I really enjoyed how they photo shopped the different items into each map.  A ton of the items blended together which made it almost impossible too find some of them.

Thank you everyone for reading!  I had so much fun going back and revisiting this old game.  So have you played any of the old Prime Suspect games?  If you which ones?  If you want look for game recommendations you can check out my Games Review page.

Until next time,
