Monthly Wrap Up: June 2021

Hello... its been a while.  Well maybe not for you since my post were schedule out every week but for me its been like 3 weeks since I've even though about my blog.  Was this done on purpose?  Nope!  That just happened because I was stuck finishing up exams pretty much every other week.  Well now I'm back and I'm ready to roll!  So last month was so small in terms of game play that this post will probably be pretty short but I still want to talk about a few things that have been going on in the background.

So this month has been probably one of the most quietest months for me in the terms of gaming.  But now I've finished my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration I will not only have more free time for a little while, but I will also be able to blog to my hearts content while I work on my other projects.

In term of gaming as you can see, I've only been able to play about 6 games this month which is a travesty (Most of these games I've only been able to recently play in the last week of June)!  I guess thats what happens when you have 4 exams and 3 papers in one month.  However gaming was the last thing on my mind.  This month was also time to set up the kittens we were fostering to get their shots, fixing, and then setting up their adoption process (Which left me shedding a few tears because I fell in love with them and as much as I would love to keep them, they deserve to have a home specially for them.  That and I think having up to 5 cats with two Chihuahuas would probably not be a good idea no matter how much it makes me want to cry giving them up.).

Before I finished my classes, I will admit I was wondering if I would ever have time to myself to game or do anything that I wanted.  I would be spending up to 12 hrs a day doing hw during these last 6 weeks and it wasn't until I hit the finish line that it really kicked in that I'm finally done.  This also then led to what I'm calling a gaming drought of what do I want to do.  This happens every time after classes end, while working on homework I want to play all the games, then after its all said and done I basically sit around wondering what I should do.  This lasted about a week but I think I'm getting back on top of all the projects that I want to work on so keep your eye pealed for new posts on here!

The Games:
When it came to gaming this month some games got about an hours worth of play.  This specifically focuses more on Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Unity, and Going Medieval.  In Valhalla I just spent some time in the game going around taking some fun snap shots and completing a small main mission in my game.  I'm really hoping to jump back into the game this month and I can't wait to get more into the main storyline!

When it came down to why I played less than an hour in Assassins Creed Unity, it all comes down to me accidentally starting the Dead Kings mission and now I'm stuck in it until I complete it.  This made me rage quit until I could put more effort into the game and hopefully I can either figure a way out of this mission or complete it and end my suffering!  I love the game, truly I do (Since this was my first Assassin's Creed game) but this mission when your a low level can be so aggravating!  I really hope to get the chance to jump back into game soon and finish it so I can then go back to playing multiplayer with Daniella!

This month I've also been able to play some new indie games that were just released.  Going Medieval and Catizen's!  I bought Going Medieval in the begging of June and I love how this game replaces Banished since I can no longer play it.  For Catizen's, Bad Optic Games was kind enough to give me access to their alpha and I plan on writing a review/preview piece on it very soon!

For the last two games on my list, I was finally able to finish Sherlock Holmes The Awakened! Daniella and I were so close to the end and after finishing it we are now looking at the last couple of games left that we haven't played yet.

Over the last week, I was also roped into playing Man of Medan with Daniella and Raenna.  If you know me, I absolutely hate horror games (I'm not good with quick time events and hate jump scares).  However, after 4 days of playing about 1 hour each day we faintly finished it and it was super fun, however that might be because I only played a quarter of it (I ended up playing Alex and Julia, which to let you know I kept them alive and boosted their relationship.). I will writing a review for this game as well so keep your eyes pealed for this.

Future Plans:
Also Daniella and I are planing to stream some Nancy Drew this month!  The first time we streamed on Twitch was on April 1st, 2018 and we have not streamed since we were busy and nervous about streaming (For us, streaming is very scary when you're not used to putting yourself out there). Since we don't have classes anymore, we are finally taking the leap and trying to stream again as a fun side project.

Now, the only question left is, what game should we stream?  We each have picked 2 games and I will be sharing them on my Instagram story page (Instagram @RetrospectBlog) asking which game we should stream!  We hope to have our first stream on July 8th, 2021 at the latest depending on what happens in the next week or so.  We hope to go live at about 2 p.m. PST (AZ time).  If you want to know when we go live, you can go give us a follow at DJTwinGamers  on Twitch!

Thank you everyone fro reading!  July is going to be a busy month for me on the blog as I have 2 reviews planned that I will be working on and sharing next month and I'll working on my other projects too.  I hope to have these go up on the blog as quickly as possibly since I've been lagging behind in blogging, at least in my opinion.  So, you might get a few posts on days other than Friday.  Now, it's time to get back to work and playing some games!

Until next time,
